Arts Santa Mónica Art centre

Gallery

Arts Santa Mònica is a multidisciplinary centre dedicated to promoting the creation of quality contemporary Catalan culture, with special attention to digital culture in Catalonia. Its aim is to serve as a platform for disseminating contemporary creativity in our country, and is presented to the public as a space for reflection to promote debate and generate ideas on the different concepts surrounding artistic creation and its relationship with the public: creativity, sensitivity, innovation, knowledge, aesthetics … International artists and creators also have in the centre the exhibition space where they can present their works. The centre serves as a platform and loudspeaker for the creative talent of the artists, who find the Artes Santa Mònica the place to unfold their full potential.

Exhibition: (AI)most life, after all)

After all.
Life is Art through its mechanisms, data networks, computing, robotics, science, virtual and real networks, a present, basic cyborization, through small neurostimulators, pacemakers that condition the heartbeat of the chorus, passion through “like”. Your future is no longer available, it is past.

Works with essences of life, not only in their creation, but in the representation of language, community, nature, human reactions, memories, post-humanism … the encounter of various fields of knowledge from technology, tea, that art veils and reveals. In his reflection in search of the essence of technology, Heidegger redefined it as something that goes beyond the merely instrumental, and that can only be revealed through art, in the essence of life, present, the source of life, El Dorado.

YGW in collaboration with New Arte Foundation, Hangar and the Beep Collection of Electronic Art, generate a proposal in which anthropocentrism is not only questioned, it is vetoed, through radical electromagnetic impulses, robotic communities, alien jellyfish, virtual landscapes closer than the real ones; are we really necessary?
